Snook are active along mangroves, docks, and bridges—especially early morning and around dusk. Live pilchards, shrimp, or soft plastics like paddle tails are producing good bites.
Mangrove snapper are thick near structure—rock piles, docks, and seawalls—hitting live shrimp and small jigs. Great table fare and easy to find this time of year.
Redfish (puppy drum) are showing up in the Banana and Indian River Lagoons, often tailing on shallow flats during early morning high tides. Use cut mullet, crab, or gold spoons.
Tarpon (juveniles and some larger fish) are cruising deeper channels and creek mouths. Use live mullet, threadfin, or DOA Baitbusters for a shot at a hookup.
Trout action has slowed a bit with the heat but can still be found on deeper drop-offs and grass edges. Target them with topwater lures at first light or use live shrimp under popping corks.
