How to trigger a top water Strike.

We have all been there, working a top water on a slick calm day then all of a sudden a wake appears behind your lure but no strike! I have learned myself and have seen clients first hand that when a fish follows your lure and you can see the fish behind the top water you initially slow the presentation down so the fish can strike the lure easier. However this is not the case. When a fish is chasing its prey in the wild the prey does not slow down so the fish can eat it, it speeds up to escape, and so should your lure. By speeding up your retrieval you will make the target fish think the lure is going to escape its strike zone causing the fish to hit harder and faster than a slow retrieval. Try this method

the next time a wake appears behind you're top water plug and I am sure you will find the result thrilling.
